It is with the deepest sadness that members of Aberconwy Conservative Association heard of the death long time Patron’s Club member, Tony Gorst. Tony, who was a member of the Patron’s Committee as well as a close personal friend to members, succumbed in his long and courageous fight against cancer. Tony was a remarkable man who led a long and remarkable life. He will be sorely missed.

Graham Dale, Chairman of the Patron’s Club said, “There are few people of whom it can be genuinely said that one would have liked to have known sooner, for longer. Tony was one such.”

Living Wage helps 300,000 out of low pay

The number of workers on low pay in the UK has fallen by more than 300,000 following the Conservatives’ introduction of the national living wage, a think tank says.

“In 2010, our economy faced a crisis. 
 
We were borrowing more than at any time in our peace time history.
Unemployment had risen by nearly 850,000 in the previous two years, we had just under 4 million workless households.
