Guto Bebb MP congratulates Bodnant Welsh Food Centre

Bodnant Welsh Food Centre has been handed an industry Oscar at the prestigious Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors' awards.  The award recognised Bodnant Welsh Food Centre’s conservation of Furnace Farm, near Tal y Cafn in the Conwy Valley.  Guto Bebb, the Member of Parliament for Aberconwy was delighted, commenting, “Since its opening I have been proud to support Bodnant Welsh Food Centre."

Cutting VAT on tourism to 5% will boost Aberconwy’s economy by £7.6m says Guto Bebb MP

Guto Bebb, MP for Aberconwy, is backing a national campaign calling for the Chancellor to cut VAT on tourism from 20% to 5%, which would result in a £7.6m boost to the local economy.The Cut Tourism VAT Campaign is run by a coalition of hotels, self-catering, caravan sites, B&Bs and visitor attractions calling on the Government to boost the economy in the upcoming Budget by cutting VAT on tourism, as 25 of the 28 countries in the European Union already do.

Outrage as Labour Welsh Government bans flying Commonwealth Flag

Much to the disappointment of Conwy residents, the Commonwealth Flag, will not be flying over Conwy Castle to mark Commonwealth Day on Monday, 9th March 2015.  More than 730 flags will be flown around the world promoting the Commonwealth’s values of human rights, international peace, tolerance, respect and understanding.
