Simon Hillman has been selected as one of the Welsh Conservative candidates to contest Penrhyn along Mark Pavey.
Simon was born to a British vicar in South Africa but grew up in Stoke on Trent and Leicestershire. He gained a PhD in Engineering from King’s College London and then worked as a post-production engineer before moving to Penrhyn Bay in 2014. He has long held connections with the area with both his grandparents and then his parents having previously lived in their current home since it was built in the 1950’s.
Simon is married to Emily-Jane and has three children, Grace, Judah and Ezra. He works part-time for Darren Millar (Assembly Member for Clwyd West) as well as running a publishing company with his wife. Together they share a passion for all the arts and recognise the importance of these to society. Simon loves the outdoors, even if it’s just a walk up the Little Orme or along the beach, and is keenly aware of the need to carefully manage and protect the environment we all share. Simon has recently begun learning Welsh and has a deep respect of and interest in the culture and history of the area.
If elected as County Councillor, Simon believes that he can bring forth the improvements necessary to raise the quality of life for all residents of Penrhyn Ward; young, old and in-between. He is a good listener and will always be keen to understand and act on local or county issues that residents raise with him.
